Watts safety valve, suitable for use in a boiler. The safety valve is fitted to a central heating system to protect it from excessive operating pressure. When the pressure exceeds a predetermined value, it opens to depressurise the system. Its role in the installation is very important because increased pressure poses serious risks to people and materials. It is installed at the highest point of the installation and without the intervention of a switch or valve.
It is two-way which means that it has 2 ports, one for the inlet of the medium and one for the outlet. When the inlet is closed the flow is interrupted, and when it is open as much as the flow in the inlet is the same as the flow in the outlet.
It is made of brass, which is an alloy of copper and zinc, and has good corrosion resistance while being resistant to time.
